History
While Travelers Palm has been welcoming guests through its doors for over two decades, the present owners purchased the property in 2000. After purchasing the property and operating for 10 years, Michel and Roxanne decided to do a complete renovation in 2010 in order to provide guests with updated and eco-friendly accommodations. They held a giant yard sales to clear everything out from the original property, right down to fixtures, toilets, and doors. Everything left was donated to charity and it was time for a fresh start!
The ground was cleared for construction, saving the best mature plantings for the new tropical gardens. Pre-manufactured cottages were delivered and assembled on site. A completely new pool was also installed, using solar-heating capabilities. A new waterfall was also added.
The renovation was a huge success and was awarded with a Certificate of Excellence from the Historic Florida Keys Foundation for preserving the original and unique Florida Keys style architecture. Come on down and see the new property!
